Donut Cheesburger?? Um no thanks.

Now I love food and it shows. I can pretty much eat anything, except Sushi and liver, well throw in meat loaf while we're at it, but I'm not sure I could chomp away on a Donut Burger. Joining two of the best things in American culture just doesn't sound too appealing to me. Rather it would join the list above. I just can't imagine the taste of a hot glazed donut then biting into a beef patty with cheese.

Who would you think created such a burger, a cop, some fat guy that doesn't watch biggest loser, a Minor league baseball team? Well if you guessed the later you're correct. An independent team in Sauget, Ill called the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League created this crazy calorie packed burger. They were out to create "Baseball's Best Burger", though that is up for debate. This is the third year in a row that they have created a crazy calorie driven meal. Two years ago they served up a hotdog topped with two strips of bacon, sauteed onions, sauerkraut and cheddar cheese sauce. Last year they created the "Swiss Brat", a bratwurst with a slice of swiss cheese in the middle topped with sauerkraut.

Bill Veeck, owner of the Charleston Riverdogs class A minor league team has well known as one of the zaniest promoters, with promotions such as Silent night, no attendance night, free Vasectomy. Well I'd have to say that Grizzlies general manager Tony Funderburg is fast becoming one of the crazyiest ballpark food creators.

If you want to get your hands and colon on this burger you'd have to buy a ticket or just go down to your neighborhood Krispy Kreme, buy a dozen glazed donuts, light up the grill for a good ole American donut Burger. Let me know how it tastes, not sure I'll be trying one anytime soon.
