Davidson does the Charleston on way to Championship win

Davidson provided a big statement in it's SoCon title clinching win over UT Chattanooga winning big 80-55. Davidson finished with a league record of 10-5 not quite up to last years standard of 16-0 but this is much sweeter as they clinched a spot in the NCAA tournament. On the way to the Conference Title Davidson rallied to beat The Citadel 79-73 then finished off #2nd seeded Elon 65-58. For Davidson this will be their first NCAA appearance since 2002 when they lost to the 4th seeded Ohio St Buckeyes.

Davidson placed three players on the All-tournament 1st team in Ian Johnson, Matt McKillop and Brendan Winters, also on the team was Citadel's J'Mel Everhart, UNC Greensboro's Kyle Hines, and App St's DJ Thompson.

Tournament MVP award was given to Davidson's Brendan Winters, for the tournament he was a combined 23-45 for 105 points, was 8 of 16 on 3 point attempts, 19 rebounds, 8 assists and 3 steals.

Congrats to Davidson and hope you represent the Southern Conference well.
